VIEWPOINTS DROP-IN

Jessica Hanna and Melissa Coleman-Reed lead Viewpoints sessions that are open to all levels. These sessions are very informal, we talk a little about the Viewpoints and then we quickly dive into the experiential experimentation that the creator of Viewpoints, Mary Overlie, described as the laboratory.

This is a physical improvisational practice that looks at theatrical Time & Space with an ensemble. We work with Overlie’s Six Viewpoints and we also work with the Nine Viewpoints that Anne Bogart, Tina Landau and SITI Company expanded into. All Viewpoints are welcome in this space!

We move and then we talk a little and then we move some more. If you come you must participate on the floor, this is not a session that can just be observed. All bodies and abilities are welcome. You decide how much you move and how deep you go. No experience is necessary. But you do need to be curious and brave!

Come dressed for movement. Viewpoints is practiced in bare feet. Bring a water bottle, we have a fountain to fill it. These informal  sessions are Free and we will have a  bowl out for folks to drop a donation in, if you are so moved. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please come for the whole session, it’s better if the whole group is present the entire time. And if you can’t make these sessions, there will be more!
