Current Productions
CARCOSA
Directors and Producers:
Technical Director: Arlo Sanders
Beyond the Lake of Hali, beneath twin suns and black stars, stands the ruined city of Carcosa. Inspired by the strange fiction of Ambrose Bierce, Robert W. Chambers, and H. P. Lovecraft, Carcosa is an entirely improvised cosmic horror story filled with forbidden knowledge, fractured realities, secret cults, and ancient monsters whose existence was never meant to be discovered.
Improvised Ghost Stories
Directors and Producers: Joseph Limbaugh
Technical Director: Arlo Sanders
Join us at Outside In’s Artbox for Improvised Ghost Stories – etheric tales made up on the spot concerning a brush with entities from the other side of the veil! Each show will bring you several unscripted short stories featuring a ghost, spirit, or apparition. Come only if you enjoy the chill of fear and do not fear the chill of death
The Return of the Improvised Monster Movie
Directors, Producers, and Horror Hosts: Matthew Pitner & Paul Hungerford
Inspired by the golden age of late-night horror hosts, drive-in creature features, and classic B-movies, Improvised Monster Movie invites audiences to create the night’s film before the cameras (sort of) roll. From the name of the town and the body count to outrageous product placements, failed attempts to kill the monster, and unforgettable plot twists, audience suggestions become the ingredients for a completely original creature feature.
VIRTUOSO
Directors and Producers: Quinn Alquetz, Joseph Limbaugh, Gabi Marler
Technical Director: Arlo Sanders
Twelve fearless improvisors. A whirlwind of games, scenes, and unscripted fun. But here’s the twist — YOU call the shots. After each round of fast-paced, laugh-out-loud competition, the audience votes on what they thought of the scene 1 – 5. One by one, the players fall… until only one is left standing – THE VIRTUOSO.
In Community
Outside In Theatre thrives on collaboration and shared inspiration. Beyond our in-house productions, we hold space and celebrate a diverse community of artists—students, teachers, actors, improvisers, directors, designers, producers, and filmmakers—who enrich and strengthen our artistic ecosystem.
