TAVERN DAY
A Community Tabletop Gaming Meetup
Pull up a chair. There’s a place for you at the table.
Outside In Tavern Day is our monthly gathering for people interested in games, storytelling, and finding community around a table.
Spend the afternoon in our welcoming lobby, surrounded by beautiful stained glass, comfortable gathering spaces, and our lobby bar, where you can grab drinks and snacks while you play. Tavern Day is a casual place to meet fellow gamers and storytellers, connect with people who share your interests, discover a new game, find a future gaming group, or simply spend a few hours with the Outside In community.
Bring a game you already love or show up and find a table. You might learn Magic: The Gathering & Commander, join a tabletop RPG or one-shot adventure, settle in for a board game, or test your powers of deception in social deduction favorites like Blood on the Clocktower and Werewolf.
WHERE GAMING & THEATRE MEET
Tavern Day grows naturally out of the kind of storytelling we love at Outside In.
Many of our unscripted productions take inspiration from the same worlds and traditions that make tabletop gaming so much fun—from fantasy and horror to role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and Call of Cthulhu. Improvisation, collaborative storytelling, fantastical worlds, audience interaction, and game-like mechanics all find their way into the work we create onstage.
At their heart, theatre and tabletop gaming share something important: people gathering together to imagine a world, tell a story, and discover what happens next.
Tavern Day gives us another way to bring those communities together.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
You don’t need to know the rules, own a game, or arrive with a group. Experienced players, first-timers, and the gaming-curious are all welcome. Come with friends or come on your own—we’ll help you find somewhere to start.
