R.O.P.E. SERIES – RELATIONSHIP
Prerequisites: beginner improvisors
Performances: in-class showcase
Learn how relationships drive scenes by clarifying who you are to each other, how you see the world, and why this moment matters between you.
This class focuses on the relational engine of improv—how connection, history, and point of view shape behavior before plot ever enters the room. Students practice building clear emotional and social relationships that make scenes feel grounded, specific, and alive.
What you will learn:
- How to establish a clear relationship quickly
- Playing point of view instead of “ideas”
- Letting opinion and history inform behavior
- Recognizing how status, intimacy, and power affect scenes
- Staying connected even as circumstances change
- Making your scene partner more important than the premise
