Training
Outside In Theatre is dedicated to fostering creativity and growth by offering a diverse range of training opportunities. We champion the value of cross-disciplinary learning, empowering students to develop their artistic skills through exposure to multiple creative practices.
Viewpoints & Suzuki Training
Outside In believes that training in techniques that originate in the exploration of the body in space are deeply valuable to everyone. Viewpoints (originated by Mary Overlie and expanded upon by Anne Bogart, Tina Landau, members of SITI Company and others) is an excellent way to learn and experiment with theatrical ideas of Time & Space using exercises that allow for improvisation and experimentation. Participants will find tools and techniques that will allow for more openness to creativity. Suzuki training (originated by the Suzuki Company of Toga) is a physical vocal training that gives the participant more access and facility with their voice and body to create theatreically. Viewpoints and Suzuki training complement each other and are often taught or practiced in tandem, but can also be taught and taken on their own.
Fill out this form if you’re interested in learning, practicing and training in Viewpoints (a movement exploration & training first created by Mary Overlie) as well as Suzuki Training (training created by the Suzuki Company of Toga). Outside In will be offering teaching of the specific exercises & theories in both Viewpoints and Suzuki, as well as drop in jams in Viewpoints for open exploration & discussion. By filling out this form we will know what your experience and interest is and include you on any announcements about upcoming training, classes or workshops.
