To provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for all patrons of Outside In Theatre. Exceptional customer service and clear, accessible ticketing practices ensure every guest feels valued and supported from arrival to departure.
Outside In Box Office Policies and Procedures
Outside In Box Office Policy
- The Outside In Theatre Box Office is located in our main lobby in the “Carol Hall”, just past our café and adjacent to the main theatre doors.
- Box Office Hours: Thursday – Sunday, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM (open through intermission).
- ArtBox event tickets can be purchased during regular box office hours at the Main Box Office.
- Will-Call Service is available; please indicate this preference when placing your order.
Ticketing Policies
Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.
Ticket Use: Tickets are valid for a single individual’s entry and are non-transferable after initial use.
Scripted – Mainspace & ArtBox
- General Admission: $25.00–$35.00 (varies by performance)
- Senior & Student Discount: $10.00 off General Admission
- Zip Code Discount: $5.00 off General Admission for Highland Park residents in the 90042 area
Unscripted – Mainspace & ArtBox
Tickets for Unscripted are offered on a show-specific, multi-tiered system to ensure accessibility and sustainability for our patrons.
Refund & Exchange Policy
- Refunds are available up to 48 hours before showtime.
- Exchanges for another performance are available within 48 hours of showtime.
- Once a show begins, all sales are final.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within five business days.
- Unused tickets may be donated to Outside In Theatre as a tax-deductible contribution (must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance, with acknowledgment available upon request).
- Ticket credits expire one year from the purchase date.

Accessible-For-All-Initiative
Donate to our Accessible-For-All-Ticket-Initiative when purchasing a ticket. Your contribution helps us provide subsidized discounts for seniors (60+), students, and pay-what-you-can ticket events, increasing access to theatre in the Highland Park community.
Outside In Theatre Policies
Accessibility
- Wheelchair Accessibility: Wheelchair and companion seating is available upon request. Please indicate “wheelchair access” on your ticket order, and an usher will assist upon arrival.
- Assisted Listening Devices are available at the Box Office desk before each performance.
- For additional assistance, please call the Box Office at (213) 262-8742.
Sensory-Friendly Performances
- Modified lighting and sound effects to create a more welcoming experience for patrons with sensory sensitivities.
- Advanced materials (social stories, videos) provided to support the theatergoing experience.
Arrival
- Our lobby and café open two hours before showtime.
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance to allow time for parking and pre-show relaxation in our café.
- Ushers are available to direct you and assist with any questions.
Cell Phone & Camera Usage
- Photography and video recording are prohibited during the performance.
- Please silence all electronic devices, including smartwatches, before the show begins.
Seating
Both the Mainspace Theatre and ArtBox feature general seating—guests may choose their seats upon arrival.
Restrooms
Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available to the left of the main entrance of Artspace (Large Theatre) and within ArtBox (Blackbox Theatre).
Late Seating
- Late arrivals will be seated at an appropriate break as determined by the director.
- Patrons may be required to wait in a designated area or watch via monitors until seating is available.
Security
The following items are not permitted in Outside In Theatre:
- Weapons or any items that could be used as a weapon.
- Professional recording devices.
- Laser pointers or disruptive items.
Smoking
- Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is prohibited inside Outside In Theatre and ArtBox.
- Patrons may exit to smoke during intermission but must present their ticket upon re-entry.
