Monica Alquetz

TEACHER

Monica Alquetz is an actor, director, and teacher originally from Austin, Texas. Prior to moving to LA to pursue her dreams of enjoying nice weather every single day, Monica taught all levels of improv at the Hideout Theatre and Merlin Works, directed sold out improvised productions (such as the wildly popular Hallmark Holiday Musical), and was a regular cast member of various award-winning (and award-losing!) narrative mainstage shows across Austin. Monica loves teaching improv because of how it reshapes people’s thinking when it comes to failure, risk-taking, and what truly makes people laugh. She believes that everyone has the capacity for comedy and the ability to succeed on stage, and this core belief is apparent in her teaching style. When not teaching, Monica can be seen performing regularly with Chekhov High School and The Reunion Improv, and she co-hosts and produces The Incubator Show and Virtuoso show along with her partner and fellow teacher, Quinn Alquetz. When not on stage, Monica can be found rock climbing, writing bad poetry, and taking very slow walks with their geriatric dog.
